Dr. Steven Murphy, DO

Dr. Murphy is a Sports Medicine Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon. He provides global orthopedic care with a special interest in shoulder, hip, and knee injuries. He has specialized training in treating shoulder instability, complex rotator cuff injuries, degenerative shoulder, labral tears of the shoulder and hip, femoroacetabular impingement, ACL, meniscus, and other ligament injuries of the knee, as well as cartilage preservation. He performs arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, hip, and knee, as well as total shoulder, total hip, and total knee replacement surgery.

During his Fellowship, Dr. Murphy provided care as assistant team physician for the Cincinnati Reds, while also being the team physician for Wittenberg University and multiple local high schools.

He continues to treat local athletes as team physician for Central State University and Cedarville University, as well as working with local high schools.

Dr. Murphy obtained his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech. He completed his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Blacksburg, Virginia. He completed his residency here in Dayton with Kettering Health Network at Grandview Medical Center. He completed his sports medicine fellowship with Beacon Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation in Cincinnati.
